How it all began ...

Running a small business is deeply personal. It often begins with an idea, a belief, or a desire to do things differently. That passion makes the work more meaningful, but it can also make it more demanding.

In 2022, founder Jessie made the decision to step away from the corporate career ladder to build something with real purpose. She wanted to create a business that not only helps small businesses succeed, but also supports women and mums who want to build flexible careers around family life.

With over 10 years of experience in the corporate world, including a successful career as a retail buyer for well-known household brands including Dunelm, Wilko and Boots, Jessie brings a strong commercial foundation in merchandising, planning and data analysis. Her years in retail buying also gave her a real understanding of brands — how they're presented, how they communicate with their customers and, importantly, what makes people want to buy from them.

Today, The Humble Bee Company brings that experience together with Jessie's love of design, helping small businesses bring their ideas to life through branding, website design, marketing materials, digital marketing and ongoing creative support.

Combining strategic insight with hands-on creative support, Jessie works with businesses to create brands and online presences that feel professional, considered and completely their own — while ensuring they feel supported at every stage of their journey.

The aim is simple: to take some of the pressure out of running and growing a business, giving business owners the space and confidence to focus on what matters most — growth, clarity and long-term success.

Who we choose to support

We believe small businesses are powerful in their own right. They’re often built on strong values, personal stories and genuine passion. That’s why we choose to work with eco-conscious, ethical and kind-led brands, businesses that truly care about their impact, their products and the people they serve.

A Personal Message From Jessie

There are so many mums who built thriving careers before having children and while becoming a parent changes everything in the best possible way, it also changes how work fits into our lives.

With the cost of living rising, nursery fees increasing and family time feeling more precious than ever, many of us don’t want to return to long workdays that mean missing school pick-ups, bedtime routines and the moments that matter most. But the years of experience, skills and knowledge we built before motherhood shouldn’t be lost just because our working hours now look a little different.

This is why I created The Humble Bee Company. I wanted to create meaningful, flexible work-from-home opportunities for women, especially mums, while bringing together talented individuals with skills across branding, design, websites and digital marketing to support purpose-driven businesses.
